Giovanni Marziano was born in Catanzaro in 1949. Giovanni Marziano has star status as one of the world's foremost experts on 17th century Neapolitan art. He is on the advisory board for the "Lacio Drom", Italy's authoritative art review based in Rome. He conducts a weekly television program on the subject, "Mercoledì Culturali", and is one of only a handful of artists in the world certified by the European Community to restore original frescoes. Since the 1970's, Giovanni has been recreating images of Calabria on canvas. His remarkably accurate interpretaions challenge our emotions by depicting images that an appassionato (passionate admirer) of Calabria easily identifies with. Giovanni is director of Calabria's largest Museum of Art, Pinacoteca di Soveria Mannelli and art director for the Provincial Museum in Catanzaro, the Capital of Calabria. He has wide recognition on the international stage and currently has both private and group exhibits in Hong Kong, Paris, Vienna and Bologna. Through the years, he has been present in galleries in virtually every art city in the world. His latest awards include Premio Villa San Giovanni, II Fiorino, Contea di Bormio, Premio Michetti, Premio città di Pizzo. |
